So I typically write my post on what I did the previous day over coffee at my coffee shop downtown. Yesterday's post took me quite a bit longer to write than normally which part of that can be contributed to everything I packed into an over night trip to NYC the other reason is they were making a movie on my street.

Filmage crap.
About a year and half ago I ran wardrobe for a low budget film in High Point and I felt got a pretty good feel for film life but this was on a way bigger scale.
Sure all the equipment was interesting but my true entertainment came from seeing all the crew members coming into the coffee shop. While the street was closed down to traffic all of the shops where open so there was a mix of film and regular people on the street. My game became crew, extra, or regular person. If you have ever been to a theatre conference you can think of the game actor, tech, dancer (you can always tell the dancers). I took a guess and then would scan them for movie paraphernalia. Sadly no pictures, I am not that bad of a gawker... yet.
So being in the entertainment business myself, even having done a movie, I understand the occasional annoyance of gawkers. But they were on my street and I need to be entertained so I gawked away. It also seems people don't mind so long as I flash my big southern grin. Never knew I had a southern smile until I came here and realized no one here had one.
I missed out on seeing them shoot anything but I know what that is like slow and repetitive. So I just photographed anything that amused me.

Told you it was a big production.
One of the giant, I will call them, shade things was already down on the street so I took a picture for comparison. (If you know the proper name of these screens let me know.)
Doorway and Mailbox shown as well
Did I mention they were shooting a winter marathon scene. All the extras were dressed in hats, mittens, scarves and winter coats. I had noticed a couple of days ago there was red ribbions and garland on the light posts and had wondered how I had not noticed them before and was suprised Norwalk was so lazy with their Christmas decorations.

While we have had a cold snap the past couple of days the snow piles did not get here by themselves.
Snow in June?
You could find these snow piles up and down the street as well as where they came from.
There were two of these trucks on the street packed full of bags of ice as well as snow machines and blowers.
There was rumor of them shooting more around the train stations so I took out this morning in search of more movie shooting to be entertained by, but no luck. I noticed some film equipment hanging out in an empty store front so maybe it is still in use. The weather is really crappy today so maybe tomorrow.
